Registration links for spring '24 programs are now open!
During seasonal programs, participants will explore the gardens, greenhouses, forest, creek and barnyard. Nature is our classroom as we flow through the rhythm of the seasons on the farm. Hands-on activities will teach about the environment, and the plant and animal kingdoms.
This spring, science will come to life as students learn about botany through seed activities and experience the life cycle of peas and sweet potatoes. We will discuss some famous people in history and their contributions to agriculture. The skill of orienteering will be introduced through a historical story. Children will work with wool that was shorn from our sheep. Animal chores, interacting with our spring chicks and nature exploration will allow students to develop a sense of compassion as they learn about the animal kingdom. We will discuss the lunar calendar and discover how the Native Americans kept track of the changing seasons. General observation of shapes and forms in nature and a history-based activity will introduce basic geometry. During the month of May, our main STEAM project will be experimenting with clay to make sun-dried bricks. Throughout the block, farm-to-table snacks will provide a tasty way for agricultural lessons to come full circle. In addition to the hands-on curriculum, this farm-based program provides time for outdoor exploration and socialization. Come join us! This program is sure to enrich your homeschool learning.

EXPERIENCE THE MAGIC OF FARM CAMP
Family Farm provides the opportunity for those young and young at heart to learn about life on the farm.
Meet & greet the animals, learn about the origin of food, and participate in hands-on activities that teach about the plant and animal kingdoms. Each Family Farm will be different as activities will follow the ebb and flow of the seasons.
Watch for next tour date to be announced!
In addition to farm and nature based activities, unstructured activities are an important part of our Farm Camp day. Unstructured, free play is so often undervalued in our current culture. Studies and direct experience tell us that imaginative capacities and empathic intelligence are best developed during self directed play. Our daily rhythm includes ample, unstructured time for free play, and our farm facility provides the environment for imaginative outdoor adventures.
Our farm facility has woods, stream, meadows and fields. During free play the imagination is given the freedom to explore and experience. Unstructured outdoor play provides the gift of creating inner peace.
